CO2 ist die chemische Bezeichnung des Gases Kohlenstoffdioxid, das umgangssprachlich Kohlendioxid genannt wird. Das “C” steht für “Carbon”, Kohle, und “O” für “Oxid”, Sauerstoff. Im Kohlenstoffdioxid-Molekül bindet jedes Kohlenstoffatom 2 Sauerstoffatome.
